Late Bloomer

I had this beauty growing happily at our old place from (ahem) a “borrowed” tuber 🙈 until it wasn’t. The year we sold, it just got lost under the weeds or maybe something ate it. It was one of my favourites so I was a bit bummed about it. I didn’t know how long we’d be here at our current place and was very shy about starting a new garden until … I wasn’t. You can’t stop growth when your energy is just bursting out of you. Although a little late, all of a sudden I have growing beds everywhere and the patch is twice the size I originally started with. I look forward to getting started at the block. 

I ordered some new dahlia tubers. I couldn’t believe when this baby flowered. I don’t remember ordering it, but it’s the one I lost at our old place. I believe in a lot of things presented to us out there in the natural world including the meaning of flowers and I’m very excited about her showing up in my world again. Oh the symbolism and the synchronicity of her showing up again. 

I’m getting a second chance at doing things in my life. Just like my garden, I’m starting my life over pretty much from scratch. But doing so from a space I want, not the space I was taught and conditioned to want. Doing so from a healed space. And you know what’s the best thing about it?? I do it full of self-love. And once you have love for yourself and self-respect & sense of worthiness that go with it, it can’t be lost and nobody can take that away from me. Couldn’t wish for more ♥️
